A shame this came out after the DS, this game could have gotten more attention. The game starts with The Red Dozers trying to get the Red Diamond back from the Skulkers. This leads to us using the Drill Dozer for the first time and getting used to how this thing works.

At this point in the game, we can unlock the secret stage for Area 1. Here, your socket lift skills with just one gear are going to be put to the test, but there's treasure in it for you if you can explore the area and complete the stage.

Thanks to a trick by the authorities, we end up thrown in prison. Thanks to the Red Diamond being hidden in the Drill Dozer, however, the Drill Dozer has a mind of its own, and its makes its way to Jill's cell for a breakout. What's next is one of the more convoluted stages in the game.

With his own plans falling apart around him, Croog (remember him?) goes to bizarre lengths to get rid of the Red Dozers, starting with destroying their headquarters, where Doug is recuperating. We need to destroy the drill missile that he sics on the headquarters in order to save Doug before taking the fight to Croog.

The controls have a lot going on here, like it's a Game Boy game trying to be a Super Nintendo game in terms of all the things you can do...so much so, that you have to press Select and Start simultaneously to pause. Strangely, I enjoyed this one for some reason despite its odd camera that has to slowly follow you around and some of the things that you have to deal with to get through the game.
